Our Founding story
Bridging Horizons Academy was born from a vision long before it became a physical campus.Founder Suleyka López Delgado carried a deep conviction that education must go beyond academics, that when a child is understood within their social, emotional, and family context, learning becomes transformational. For years, she envisioned an institution designed to support diverse learning profiles through individualized structure, academic excellence, and whole-child development.
As the vision began to take tangible form, Llerenia Zárate joined the initiative, bringing operational collaboration and a strategic opportunity that allowed the academy to establish its first physical campus. Through shared commitment, leadership, and partnership, the vision transitioned from concept to reality.
Together, Suleyka López Delgado and Llerenia Zárate formalized Bridging Horizons Academy, combining visionary leadership with operational execution to build an institution rooted in Light, Character, and Future.
Today, Bridging Horizons Academy stands as a growing educational institution founded on vision, partnership, and purpose, with long-term plans to expand across Florida, Puerto Rico, and beyond.

How Bridging Horizons Academy Operates
Bridging Horizons Academy is led by two co-founders whose complementary expertise ensures both educational innovation and operational strength.
Suleyka López
Founder & Chief Executive Officer.
Suleyka López Delgado is the visionary founder of Bridging Horizons Academy. Her academic background in Applied Sociology, Applied Psychology, and Early Childhood Education shapes the academy’s whole-child philosophy and individualized learning model.
Through her experience teaching at the preschool, elementary and middle school levels, she identified structural gaps within traditional education systems, particularly the expectation that students conform to standardized academic models that do not always reflect their unique developmental profiles.
Guided by a deep sense of faith and purpose, she felt called to design an educational environment that recognizes each child’s individuality, strengths, and potential. Her vision for Bridging Horizons Academy was planted long before the campus opened, rooted in the conviction that education should build bridges, not barriers.
Llerenia Zárate
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Llerenia Zárate serves as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Bridging Horizons Academy. With academic preparation in Management and International Marketing, she brings strong organizational, operational, and strategic expertise to the institution.
In addition to her business background, Llerenia has spent many years working with children in extracurricular environments, particularly within the arts. Her experience fostering creativity, discipline, and personal development through artistic programs adds a valuable dimension to the academy’s holistic approach.
Her leadership bridges operational structure with student enrichment, ensuring that the academy’s academic vision is supported by strong systems, sustainable growth, and meaningful extracurricular development opportunities.
